Canzon XVI
A Gabrieli gem. This antiphonal piece uses 2 brass choirs (quartets) and the orchestra as the third “choir.” I have often used this piece as a second half opener on holiday concerts with the 2 brass choirs placed in the concert hall on either side of the stage. It’s very effective and always elicits a huge audience response.
