FIREDANCE for Marching Band (Trumpet Quintet Version)

Program Notes:

Made famous by Allen Vizzutti and Woody Herman’s Thundering Herd, the seminal big band classic FIREDANCE is now available for full marching band instrumentation. Arranged for the James Madison University Marching Royal Dukes by the prolific composer Robert W. Smith, this setting of FIREDANCE aims to capture the essence of the original with a five trumpet soloist feature. Perelandra Music is delighted to also present a brass quintet version, arranged to feature the world famous Boston Brass quintet.
FIREDANCE is designed as a fiery compliment to any marching band production or a great means to feature fantastic soloists within the program. We also strongly encourage band directors to consider using this production as a vehicle to work with the amazing Boston Brass. They are great performers and wonderful educators. Please consider this for your shows in the autumn season!
