Riffs
This work was originally composed for the Eastman Wind Ensemble and drum soloist Michael Burritt. This jazz composition features the drum soloist playing through a series of different “grooves” with the orchestra playing numerous rhythmic and melodic “riffs” as call and response motifs.
Note: The recording is of the wind ensemble version but the orchestra version follows the same format.
