A Scott Joplin Mini Suite for Piano and Orchestra
Scott Joplin, the “King of Ragtime” composed 40 Rags, two operas and a ballet in his life time. His rags, with their blend of French march music and syncopated rhythms contributed to the birth of Jazz in America. I wrote this suite for Anne-Marie McDermott and it was performed with her as soloist at the Bravo! Festival in Vail, Colorado with the Dallas Symphony.
